At T5RA, we know that every participant starts from a different point.
Some arrive as beginners with little or no German knowledge. Others already have a solid foundation and are ready for the next academic and personal step. That is why our programme is built around two main intakes each year: the August Intake and the January Intake.
These two entry points are not simply different dates. They represent two different language starting levels and two different development pathways within the T5RA model.
The August Intake is designed primarily for beginners starting at A1 level, with the goal of progressing to B1 or B2. The January Intake is designed for more advanced participants starting at B1 level, with the aim of reaching C1 or even C2.
This structure helps us create a more focused, realistic, and meaningful pathway for each participant.
The August Intake: From beginner to independence
The August Intake is the starting point for participants who are at the beginning of their German language journey.
For many young people, this is the ideal way to enter the T5RA environment. Starting at A1, participants build the essential foundations of the language step by step while also developing through rugby, daily structure, and life in a supportive academy setting.
The goal of this pathway is to reach B1 or B2 by the end of the programme.
That is an important milestone. Reaching this level can open the door to vocational opportunities in Germany, including the possibility of beginning an Ausbildung. It also means that participants can communicate more confidently in everyday life, become more independent, and integrate more successfully into their new environment.
The August Intake is therefore not just about learning German from scratch. It is about building a real foundation for the next step in life.
The January Intake: From advanced learner to academic readiness
The January Intake is designed for participants who already have a stronger language base and are ready to move further.
This pathway starts from B1 level and is aimed at learners who want to progress toward C1 or C2. It is a more advanced track for participants who are already able to communicate in German and now want to reach a level that allows for much broader academic and professional opportunities.
This matters because C1 or C2 can provide access to higher education in Germany, including the possibility of studying at university.
For ambitious young people, this makes the January Intake especially attractive. It is not only a continuation of language development, but also a pathway toward academic qualification, deeper integration, and a wider range of future options.
In this sense, the January Intake is a progression route for participants who are already beyond the beginner stage and are aiming higher academically and linguistically.
Two intakes, one integrated concept
Although the starting points are different, both intakes are part of the same T5RA vision.
In both pathways, language learning is combined with rugby, accommodation, structure, and personal support. Participants are not only attending a course. They are entering an environment that is designed to help them grow athletically, academically, and personally.
This integrated approach is what makes T5RA different.
We do not see language development as something separate from everyday life or separate from the academy experience. We see it as part of a wider journey that includes discipline, responsibility, teamwork, confidence, and long-term opportunity.
Matching the pathway to the participant
Not every participant needs the same starting point, and not every future goal is the same.
Some young people need a beginner pathway that helps them build basic language competence and prepares them for vocational training and daily life in Germany. Others are already further along and want to reach a level that prepares them for university study and more advanced academic opportunities.
By separating the programme into an August Intake for A1 learners and a January Intake for B1 learners, T5RA can offer a more targeted and purposeful structure.
That benefits participants, because they learn in a group that is closer to their level and their goals. It also strengthens the quality of the programme, because the learning pathway becomes more coherent and more realistic.
Language as a gateway to the future
At T5RA, language learning is not just an additional service. It is one of the central building blocks of opportunity.
A participant who reaches B1 or B2 may be in a position to begin vocational training in Germany and take important first steps toward long-term integration and professional development. A participant who reaches C1 or C2 may be ready for university-level study and a much broader academic pathway.
That is why the distinction between the two intakes matters so much.
The programme is not just organised around dates. It is organised around outcomes.
More than a start date
The August Intake and the January Intake are not simply two moments in the calendar. They are two clearly defined entry routes with different academic and linguistic goals.
The August Intake supports participants who are starting from the beginning and want to build toward B1/B2, creating a pathway toward Ausbildung and greater independence in Germany.
The January Intake supports participants who already have B1 and want to progress toward C1/C2, creating a pathway toward university study in Germany and more advanced educational opportunities.
Both are serious development routes. Both are valuable. And both reflect the T5RA belief that talent grows best when support is matched to the individual starting point.
Looking ahead
At T5RA, we want to help young people move forward with purpose.
That is why we offer two distinct intake pathways each year: one for beginners who want to build a strong foundation, and one for advanced learners who want to reach the next academic level.
Whether the goal is Ausbildung or university study, the journey begins with the right environment, the right support, and the right pathway.
That is what the August Intake and the January Intake are designed to provide.
